The Public Works Committee has unanimously voted Wednesday evening to recommend that construction of Well #4 not be included in the City of Monona’s 2026 Capital Budget Request to the Common Council. This is a positive step toward protecting our water, parks, and community resources. However, the Common Council is not bound by this recommendation—they may still choose to add Well #4 to the budget. That’s why it’s critical for residents to stay engaged, voice concerns, and ensure our elected officials know that safe, clean drinking water, fiscal responsibility and the preservation of our green spaces remain top priorities.
